The complete and official text of the statute.

(1) Whenever any duty is imposed upon any public officer of this state, or of any county, city, town, or other political subdivision thereof, and a punishment for the failure or neglect to perform such duty is not prescribed by statute, such public officer shall be guilty of a gross misdemeanor.
(2) The provisions of this section shall not apply to any case where a different punishment is prescribed by this title or any other statute of this state for a failure or neglect to perform a duty.
